Welcome to #Event-Horizon-Photos, a still growing photography group for people of all skill levels to come together and share their work, experience and advice. Here we will put information on the group as well as reoccurring questions.
Why Event Horizon?
Event Horizon is the name of a concept, simply put, that means the limit/s for the observable universe, the edge of the universe. In this case however, it means all photographers within the universe, a pretty large area, and there for all levels of skill and experience within photography. We could technically also have called it "Universal-Photos", but we think we're clever. It's also the name of a horrific science fiction movie.
Who can join?
Do you have an interest in photography? Then you can join. It doesn't matter if you just picked up a camera the first time a week ago or if you're going pro, we'd adore to have you with us.
How does submissions work?
You submit your pictures by going in to the Gallery and clicking the "+ Submit to this Gallery"-button in the upper right corner, and your picture will be sent to the founders for approval. Please only submit the pictures you are most proud of, one or two per calendar month, so that the gallery doesn't get flooded, we won't approve of more than two a month per member. Remember that this is a photography group, so we only want photography, even if we will accept some after work. You can also submit as many tutorials as you want, whenever you want.
How do I suggest a fave?
The same way as you submit a deviation to the gallery, by going into the faves and click the "Suggest a fave"-button. Please only suggest photography, as this is the only type of deviation that will be accepted, and don't suggest your own or (knowingly) any other members work to the group faves, also try to avoid suggesting all your own favorites, it really clogs up our message center. When you suggest a favorite it will be suggested to the founders that get to vote on whether or not to have it as a fave.
Contributors and Members? What's the difference?
Well as we have now reached our contributer limit, we have changed the types of meberships you can have with us, contributers and members are now differently only in name, they have the exact same privelages.
If you have any other questions or even suggestions on how to make the group better, please note or comment the group, and one of us will try and answer you as quickly as we can!
Remember that this group is still starting up, so the road might be a bit rough for the first time, but we hope to get everything up and running smoothly as soon as we've figured out all the turns.
